THERAPIST

Job Title: Therapist
Department: Clinical
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Charles (La Plata)
Reports to: Clinical Director
Date: August 1, 2010

Job Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Director the therapist is responsible for providing quality therapeutic services to the client they serve thorough proper evaluations and treatment plans, and to ensure that the needs of the clients are met and maintained on an individual basis and in accordance with policies, procedures, and current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations
Primary Direct Service Responsibilities
Providing individual and group counseling to children and adolescents.
Providing clinical evaluations in cases where abuse has not yet been determined.
Providing assistance to parents and secondary clients as related to the needs of the primary child clients.
Providing support and educational groups to parents on as needed basis..
Coordinating services with other agencies involved with individual cases.
Providing crisis intervention counseling as needed
Testifying in court and/or other legal proceedings on behalf of the child client upon order of the court and when privilege is waived.
Advocating for clients with other service agencies as needed.
Providing accompaniment services for clients as needed.
Recording and maintaining client records in a responsible manner.
Providing Center information (policies) to clients/parents/guardians and ensuring that responsible adult has understanding of and signs appropriate Center information forms.
Submitting client statistics to the Clinical Director as requested.
Attending multi-disciplinary team meetings.
Following state child abuse reporting guidelines.
Submitting a written report to Protective Services upon disclosure of an abuse.
Maintaining and advancing clinical skills through training opportunities and professional in-services as the budget allows.
Receiving clinical supervision from available Center consultants.

Primary Administrative Responsibilities:
Attending regularly scheduled clinical meetings and general staff meetings.
Attending administrative supervision meetings as scheduled.
Assisting other staff in the training of volunteers.
Assisting other staff in the training of outside community professionals.
Providing information to the Clinical Director regarding service needs of primary and secondary clients
Representing the Center at meetings and/or on committees as requested by the Clinical Director.

Education and Skill Requirement:
Maryland (MD) State Licensure (LCPC, LGSW, etc) with Professional Insurance

Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require 45 hour work weeks, weekend and or evening and occasional overnight travel. You are required to keep your MD State license and professional insurance current at all times


PRP Associate

Job Title: PRP Associate
Department: PRP

Reports to: PRP Coordinator/Specialist
Date: August 1, 2010

Job Summary:
To assist children with mental illness, emotional or behavioral issues, to develop, enhance, and/or retain: psychiatric stability and/or social competencies

Primary Responsibilities:
Assisting the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) Coordinator/Specialist in the development and implementation of rehabilitation services that reflect the need of the minors served by the program.
Assisting the PRP Coordinator/Specialist in overseeing the rehabilitation needs of all Program consumers, ensuring that consumers’ rehabilitation and service needs are addressed in their Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs).
Attending regular weekly clinical staff/all staff meetings to address issues pertaining to consumers and/or the Program in addition to participating in bi-weekly supervision with the program director.
Conducting initial assessments, including initial documentation required by COMAR regulations, for referred consumers; and ensuring that authorizations for initial assessments have been obtained from APS.
Representing the Program to outside agencies, including the CSA.
Completing client file audits quarterly.
Maintain an active case load by meeting with consumers individually to address clinical concerns or psychiatric emergencies. When necessary, facilitating referrals to outside agencies; developing behavioral interventions, as needed, to address specific consumer needs.
Carrying a cell phone at all times, responding to pages from staff /consumers, and instructing staff/consumers as to how to respond to the situation at hand.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Skill Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred (other commensurate experience or training may be substituted)
Experience working with children
Excellent communication/listening skills
Demonstrates respect for children/youth experiencing serious emotional and behavioral problems
Ability to handle stressful situations

Systems Navigator:

Job Title: Systems Navigator
Department: LAM
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Location: Charles (La Plata)
Reports to: Supervisor of Case Management
Date: August 1, 2010

Job Summary:
Responsible for providing immediate screening and response to all who contact the dedicated phone line. Assist families in identifying their strengths and needs for children. Supports the development of their family/service plan, will identify specific program/organizations that will provide resources to the families. Will assist families in obtaining necessary services and ensure agencies and families follow through with contacting each other. Demonstrate knowledge of legal system, knowledge about serious emotional and behavioral problems and their impact on children, youth and their families.

Primary Responsibilities :
Assist the family in establishing goals and a plan for accomplishing these goals
Act as liaison between family and Insurance agencies to ensure coverage is available
Assist family with locating ‘Real Life Needs’ (e.g. finding dentist, doctor)
Assist families in identifying their strengths and needs
Identify specific program/organization that will provide key resources for the families
Document, accurately, all services being provided
Perform other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator or Executive Director

Education and Skill Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred (other commensurate experience or training may be substituted)
Parent of children with special needs who have experience with the systems (preferred but not required)

CHIEF PSYCHOLOGIST

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. and Licensed Psychologist in State of Maryland

Under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Coordinator the Chief Psychologist is responsible for the following:
DIRECT SERVICE
Provide clinical supervision of licensed psychologists biweekly
Provide clinical supervision of unlicensed psychology associates as required by statute
Review referrals for testing and assign
Evaluation of psychology staff in conjunction with clinical coordinator
Work with Clinical Coordinator to keep psychological expenses within budget
Administrative duties as assigned
Submitting client statistics for internal or external reporting as requested.
Attending multi-disciplinary team meetings.
Other duties as assigned
Provide psychological testing
Provide individual and family psychotherapy if openings in testing schedule allow
Provide Case Management and paperwork entailed in the provision of these services

ADMINISTRATIVE
