Parenting Doesn't Stop

Strategies for Parents to Help their Children Adjust to Divorce, Separation, Custody, or Visitation Changes

Separation and divorce are difficult times for parents and children. There are many emotions involved in adjusting to a major family change and many decisions to be made. Life goes on for all family members and we believe that you as parents can pave the way for healthy growth and adjustment for yourselves and your children.

We believe that the information in our seminar, combined with your love and caring, can have a positive impact on your relationship with your child and your child's other parent.

Your attendance and work are investments in a future for you and your child.

Topics to be covered in our workshop include:

  • What adults and children experience after separation, divorce, or custody issues
  • Explaining separation or divorce to children
  • Changes in parent-child relationships
  • Making healthy decisions based on children's needs
  • How to build a constructive co-parenting relationship
  • The staff at the Center for Children can provide additional divorce-related Court ordered services, including:
  • Custody Evaluations - performed by the Center's psychologists. The evaluation must be Court ordered and will be based on the requests of the Court.
  • Supervised Visitations - coordinated and provided for any non-custodial parent when requested by the Court. The visitation will take place at the Center for Children or an off-site location depending on the guidelines in the Court order.
