All individuals referred for services will meet with one of Harford Counseling's licensed professionals who will complete a comprehensive evaluation in order to identify the presenting problem(s). Based on the evaluation, treatment recommendations are made for the most appropriate level of care to deal with the client’s situation.
Depending on the severity of issues, a number of treatment programs are available:
- A 12-week alcohol and drug education group (for those assessed as "social drinkers.")
- A 26-week alcohol and drug treatment group (for those assessed as substance abusers/chemically dependent or are repeat offenders, within a 10-year period per Maryland State requirements.)
- Clients can also work individually with a licensed therapist to address substance abuse, addiction, or any other mental health disorder, if not comfortable in a group setting.
These groups meet once weekly during day and evening hours, Monday through Friday.
