The R. R. Kling team loves to share the story of its modest beginnings. In April of 2004, Robert M. (Bob Sr.), Robert R. (Bob Jr.), Eric and Ben Kling took a leap of faith and left a long established family business to start a new venture. Fourteen co-workers at the time were invited to join the R. R. Kling family in their new business and all fourteen jumped on board without hesitation. Eric Kling recalls, “It was amazing how everyone pitched in during those early days! We were operating out of a rented garage, with borrowed furniture and no phones or computers for the first few days of operation. The “charter employees” used their own vehicles to go to service calls, used their own tools to do the work and even brought their own chairs to the office! The early days were lean, but we never regretted bringing all of those people on board at the start of our company! They are the reason we are successful today! After some aggressive marketing campaigns, the local community knew where their favorite technician was working and the jobs came rolling in. In just six short years, our workforce has more than doubled to nearly 40 employees, our sales have grown each and every year, even in bad economic times, and we no longer rent garage space to run our business.”

In the fall of 2005, the R. R. Kling operation moved to their current location at 4522 North Sherman Street, on the outskirts of Mt. Wolf. The 5 acre facility has recently undergone additions and renovations and now includes over 20,000 square feet of office and warehouse space, a state of the art inventory management system and nearly $175,000 service parts and supplies, a training center to keep technicians up to date on technological advancements, and a fleet of 22 service and installation vehicles.

As our industry has evolved, so have the capabilities of R. R. Kling & Sons. The company embraced the recent trend toward renewable energy options and is the area’s leader in the application of both geothermal and solar technologies.

From the early days when we had more employees than we had customers, the company has grown to serve nearly 15,000 area customers and perform regular maintenance for nearly 3,000 Priority Club Maintenance Agreement customers.
