BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure) is a Department of Defense process which reorganizes military bases and other locations to more effectively and efficently increase readiness, and facilitate new ways of doing business.

With the upcoming closure of Fort Monmouth in New Jersey, many army personell, service providers and their families will be relocating to the Aberdeen Proving Grounds and the surrounding areas. Within the next six years, the regional population is expected to increase by over 55,000 people due to this movement.
