Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church

Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church was established in 1863 as a part of the Methodist Protestant tradition. Once considered a large country church, we are now located in a more suburban environment. Many of our members are from families that have been in Harford County for a long time, while others are recent transplants.

We are a small community that values fellowship, singing, history and heritage. We LOVE our church dinners so much that we have them every 3rd Sunday of the month! We also actively collect non-perishable food for a local food pantry. Our homebound members are still part of our community, and receive regular visits, cards, and communion. We have a fellowship hall, kitchen, office/Sunday School hall that was added to the church in 1958. Our sanctuary is handicapped accessible (restrooms are not handicapped accessible).

Mt. Tabor UMC is part of the Deer Creek Charge with our sister church, Deer Creek UMC. Together, we work on mission projects, gather for fellowship meals on the 3rd Sunday of the month, participate in Bible Studies and worship together on Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Thanksgiving. Mission Statement:
Mount Tabor United Methodist church, along with all Christians everywhere, seeks to glorify God almighty. We accomplish this by gathering weekly to worship God through our spoken word, song, prayer, and fellowship and extending our outreach through prayer and service where possible. We reach outward to children, senior citizens, and the community at large; and encouraging each other through study, service, worship, and caring for each other, to live our lives in a manner pleasing to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Weekly Schedule:
Sundays: Worship Celebration, 11am (Style: Traditional, communion offered on the first Sunday of the month)
Mondays: 3rd Monday of the month—United Methodist Women (UMW) Meeting at the church (contact us for current times and schedules)
Wednesdays: Bible Study at Deer Creek UMC, 11am (contact us for current offerings)
Thursdays: Choir Practice, 6:30pm
