In 1960, E Jerome McCarthy introduced the 4 P’s of marketing: product, promotion, placement and price. This model has been widely adopted and taught in Marketing 101 classes as a fundamental framework for developing marketing strategies. However, in the internet era, the traditional model has been impacted by the importance of technology and the constantly changing digital landscape. In this article, I will analyze and provide examples of how the P’s have been redefined in the digital generation.
